Turquoise is a rare, blue-to-green mineral, prized for millennia as a gemstone for Turquoise Jewelry. It is a hydrated phosphate of copper and aluminum, found in arid, copper rich regions, with colors ranging from intense sky blue (due to copper) to yellowish green (due to iron). Turquoise has been used for thousands of years by indigenous peoples in the Southwest U.S. for turquoise jewelry, ceremonies, and trade.
